ABSTRACT
Start-up companies face specialized challenges when it comes to marketing. This article delves into marketing practices that have made a difference for executives at start-ups. In addition to their own experiences as consultants and executives, the authors spoke with executives and founders of start-up companies in a variety of industries over a 24-month period. The article outlines nine rules that came from that research and can help organize a start-up company's marketing plan.
