WNEW-FM format on the blink

September 2003
Crain's New York Business;9/15/2003, Vol. 19 Issue 37, p1
After just five months on the air, the U.S.-based WNEW-FM radio station has pulled the plug on its Blink 102.7 format, as of September 15, 2003. The combination of music and entertainment news couldn't attract an audience. Viacom Inc.-owned radio station fired more than 20 people, including its morning show hosts Lynda Lopez and her boyfriend Chris Booker. The radio station, once home to classic rock, switched to an adult contemporary format to compete with top-rated radio station WLTW-FM.
