ABSTRACT
Reports on the intention of Hal Stratton, chief of the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) to adopt a single fire resistant (FR) standard on mattress flammability in the U.S. that is similar to a standard developed in California. Questions raised on the revised FR standards proposed by California regulators; Goal to develop a national flammability standard by Janury 2005; Petition filed by California officials that would seek the approval of CPSC to adopt the California standard.
