India's Smartphone Market Soars in the Second Quarter of 2015

The article reports on the 26.5 million smartphones that were shipped to India in the second quarter of 2015, which is up by 44 percent from 18.4 million units for the same period in 2015. It notes the data provided by the International Data Corp. (IDC) which indicates the strong performance of smartphone shipments, however, Indian mobile phone market has shrunk by -6 percent. It also notes that Chinese vendors have tripled their shipments in the country and doubled quarter-on-quarter (QoQ).
