ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the fears and policy goals that led U.S. Congress to dramatically curtail protection and the right to work for asylum seekers. It mentions that the ban on employment for asylum seekers increases the criminalization of immigration law and inconsistent with other humanitarian immigration. It also mentions that protection amounts to constructive nonrefoulement to asylum seekers as a violation of the Refugee Convention.
