Evaluates the cost-effectiveness of chlorhexidine gluconate versus povidone iodine for vascular catheter site. Decrease in the incidence of catheter-related bloodstream infection with the use of chlorhexidine rather than povidone iodine; Decrease in the incidence of death; Total savings per catheter used; Cost-effectiveness of using chlorhexidine gluconate for improving patient safety in the hospital setting.
