Highlights the exhibition 'The Human Figure in Early Greek Art,' at the National Gallery in Washington, D.C. Collection of Greek sculpture; Appearance of the first monumental stone sculptures during the Archaic period in Greece; 'Kourus' from the Sanctuary of Apollo on Mount Ptoon in Boeotia, dated about 520 B.C.; Sophisticated figures from Homeric legend which adorn a late 6th-century B.C. drinking cup.
