The article discusses efforts by the families of five people kidnapped in Syria to work together to recover their missing relatives, despite U.S. policies which required them not to disclose the kidnappings. Details on their collaboration with David Bradley, an entrepreneur who had coordinated the release of a kidnapped contract worker, are presented.
