ABSTRACT
Aided by a grant of Bibliothek International (BI) and the Goethe-Institut New York I visited the USA in November 2014. My report about Lobbying for ebooks in public libraries gives insight into various segments in which American libraries act as lobbyists for ebooks (and other digital contents). It is also possible for German libraries to support the ReadersFirst and LibrarySimplified projects in non-material ways. These projects are useful as a basis of a common position of the German libraries when dealing with publishers and suppliers of licences.
