Agrees with Lawton R. Burns and James C. Robinson that physician practice management companies (PPMCs) pose a threat to integrated delivery systems (IDSs). Skepticism about the growth of large PPMCs; Question on the capability of PPMCs and IDSs to foster a continuum of community care; Probable outcome of the continued growth of PPMCs.
