ABSTRACT
Volvo Construction Equipment Corp. is to implement an worldwide LMS and an e-learning programme following a successful year-long pilot. The pilot, which used WBT Systems' TopClass LMS, provided 1,000 learners in the U.S. and parts of Europe with 30 hours of online sales, service and product training. 'We had a specific problem, our frontline sales staff were not getting the proper training on our products,' recalls George Lilly, the firm's vice-president of marketing. As a result, the firm created 28 modules for the students to work through online before spending two days in the classroom practicing their skills and taking a final exam.
