ABSTRACT
Learning Commons (LC) is a new facility designed to bring traditional library resources and services, and desktop computing resources and services, into one central location for student use. The installation of the LC in the Killam Memorial Library at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, took place for fulfillment of a vision - to provide information resources and information technology to enhance the learning experience on the Dalhousie campus. The LC project had been proposed to the general university community several years before its eventual approval, but the proposal was largely ignored because its price was very high. Questions asked in the feedback form from LC users are included in the article. The project required that staff learn new skills, particularly software applications such as MS Office, to assist users in integrating traditional library resources with the university's technological resources. INSET: User Feedback Surveys.
