Internet Content Lives On: Streaming Show Proves It

The dot-com implosion has killed off most Internet content ideas, but executives from major media companies gathered for the recent Streaming Media West conference here said it would be a mistake to abandon the medium. And officials from Walt Disney Internet Group and Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment reported several new online content initiatives aimed squarely at broadband users. This fall, Sony will launch Screenblast, a Web site that allows consumers to create, edit and manipulate content from Sony's music and movies, creating their own works of art.
