ABSTRACT
An upgrade of South Wales Police's online learning portal is to be started in August 2003. The revamped, intranet-based Learning and Development Zone will offer further functionality to the portal's 5,000 users. Improved training management and audit facilities will be among the additions. 'We want to enable staff to develop at their own pace as a complement to classroom training,' says Alun Williams, technology enhanced learning manager at South Wales Police. The Zone contains a wealth of training-related materials and also incorporates e2train's LMS and Questionmark's online assessment tool.
