Reports that Michigan State University researcher Martha Quentin and colleagues have discovered that the number of larvae of the common bean weevil in stored beans can be reduced simply by agitating the beans. Length of time required for an emerging larva to bore its way into a bean; Percentage reduction in the weevil population following agitation of beans; Procedure for saving beans from weevil damage.
