ABSTRACT
Reports on the shortage of well-qualified teachers in Great Britain despite reassurances from the schools minister, Michael Fallon that supply of teachers had improved significantly. Reduction in the number of vacancies for teachers; Headteachers' complain on their lack of choices in whom they appoint; Confusions caused by figures compiled by the Department of Education and Science; Increase in the number of students applying to teacher training colleges.
