Reports on the keynote speech at the international AIDS conference in Florence, Italy by AIDS epidemiologist James Chin projecting annual AIDS cases in Western industrialized countries to peak before the middle of the 1990s. Expected continued spread of the disease among heterosexuals; Greater size of the heterosexual population compared to those of gays, who are first to be affected by AIDS.
