ABSTRACT
Reports on the growth of thin films of high-temperature superconductors as expanding spirals, according to Marilyn Hawley and her colleagues at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico and Richard Gerber and his colleagues at the IBM Zurich Research Laboratory in Switzerland. Defects produced by the spiral features which may contribute to their ability to conduct high electrical currents; Experimental process which led to the discovery of superconductors.
