ABSTRACT
This article deals with problems related to the decision of Fox Broadcasting Co. to premiere most of its fall television series ahead of the official September 17, 1990 season kickoff in the U.S. Production delays are being experienced by the network. The programs "Babes," "The Simpsons" and "Class of Beverly Hills" might be delayed as late as October. Advertisers are concerned about the impact of the delays. Fox sold $550 million in advertising inventory during this year's upfront sales period. Some film companies have begun to evaluate their buys on the Thursday night schedule of Fox due to the delays.
