ABSTRACT
This article focuses on negotiations between Dentsu and Frankel & Co. regarding the formation of an alliance to service Dentsu's Japanese-based clients in the U.S., as of August 1990. Representatives of Japanese advertising agency Dentsu met with several agencies in the U.S. and Great Britain concerning its search for partners in sales promotion and direct marketing. Serving clients whose promotion marketing is controlled by U.S. subsidiaries will be the next focus of Dentsu, which might involve the acquisition of a local agency.
