ABSTRACT
The article features several products marketed by cigarette marketers and companies in India. Cigarette marketers, GTC Ltd. and Godfrey Philips Ltd. were criticized women's rights groups for launching a cigarette brand targeted to women. Environment minister, Maneka Gandhi tried to block Godfrey Philips frmo using foreign brand names on any cigarettes. Despite widespread opposition and criticism, tobacco sales are still increasing with Godfrey Philips and GTC at the number two and three position in cigarette marketing.
