ABSTRACT
In the article, the author discusses the cases of violent and public deaths of African American men by the U.S. police and self-styled police as of May 2015. He claims that the incidents showed similarities with the lynchings of the Jim Crow South in the 1960s and 1970s. He also tackles the purpose of lynching, the quest for power, and the issue of racial segregation.
