ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's visit to an establishment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida called Shooters which is being considered either the fourth or fifth greatest bar in the world. He came up from Miami on the Intracoastal in a fishing boat. At noon, there have been a hundred young people in and around the joint. The cars are extended bumper-to-bumper for a mile by midnight. Many people roamed nearby streets and the dress was uniform: men's shirts unbuttoned to the chest to reveal the glint of gold chains and women wore in black spandex.
