The article reports on the multimillion lawsuit filed against advertising agency DDB Needham Worldwide in relation to August 1987 deaths of five advertising executives in a rafting accident on Canada's Chilko River. The jury trial was scheduled on June 1991. The trial was set over the question of whether DDB Needham and parent Omnicom Group are liable in the tragedy. The outcome may lead agencies to reexamine the types of outings used to entertain clients or potential clients.
