Reports that U.S. Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) Chairman Glenn Hackbarth has warned hospital financial officers gathered in Baltimore, Maryland in June 2003 that adding a prescription drug benefit would compound pressure to limit provider payments. Problems facing hospital financial departments; Personal view of Hackbarth on Medicare drug benefit; Position of Hackbarth on the recommended overall payment increase of MedPAC for hospitals in 2004.
