ABSTRACT
The article reports on developments related to bond markets in Southwestern states in the United States as of June 24, 2003. Governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee set aside $22.5 million of federal funds for school districts that consolidate to combine larger districts. Oklahoma County in Oklahoma may add $3 million to a planned $20 million revenue bond issue to cover needed improvements at a new downtown parking garage in the city. Governor of Texas Rick Perry signed into law a $117.4 billion biennial budget for the state.
