ABSTRACT
U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray Inc. has appointed John Calia, a former top trader at Lehman Brothers Inc., to head up the expansion of its fixed-income municipal trading and sales capabilities in New York. At Lehman, Calia reported to Peter Coleman, managing director and head of municipal bond trading, who was not available for comment. In February, the firm hired John Donovan as a managing director in municipal institutional sales also in the New York office. The firm also hired Mike Paone in March from U.S. Bancorp Asset Management to work on the money market desk in Minneapolis. In addition, Piper Jaffray moved Cheryl Pawlikowsky to head up the institutional sales dealer desk in the Chicago office.
