This article presents information about developments related to Securities industry of the U.S. as of June 13, 2003. More municipal bond issuers may choose to sell taxable bonds following the success of 10 billion dollar taxable Illinois pension bond issue, according to a report by Municipal Market Advisors. Issuers may find that selling the bonds as taxable broadens their audience. The primacy of retail investors in the municipal bond market has prevented it from keeping pace with falling taxable bond yields, according to a special report released by Citigroup Global Markets in New York. As a result, municipal bond yields have come close to those of Treasuries.
