ABSTRACT
Manufacturing activity in the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City in Kansas eased somewhat in May 2003, while expectations for the next six months remain high, according to the bank's monthly manufacturing survey released on June 9, 2003. The production index fell to one in May, its lowest level since December 2002, from 15 in April 2003. The number of employees index declined to negative 33 from negative 29, while the average employee workweek index increased to negative 13 from negative 20.
