ABSTRACT
The article discusses the November 2014 repeal of a library law by the state government of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany and the goals of the revised law to prepare German libraries for the future and the digitization of their materials. Information is also provided on the lending of electronic books at Danish libraries, the cooperation of German national libraries with the Schott publishing company to create a music archive, and the online publication of 17th-century manuscripts at www.vd17.de.
