ABSTRACT
The article looks at the challenges in the operations of offshore oil and gas operators in the Cook Inlet in Alaska. Ice floes are regarded as the key barrier in oil and gas exploration and production in the area, which are addressed with conservative design loading and new designs to deflect ice. It explores developments in oil and gas operations in the areas as well as emphasizes the issue of environmental protection faced by operators in Arctic exploration and production.
