Rating agencyFitch Ratings Inc. has affirmed a BBB rating on June 5, 2003 on approximately 730 million dollars of MedStar Health Inc. tax-exempt bonds that are outstanding. The rating affirmations come about a year after MedStar Health agreed to pay U.S. Internal Revenue Service 500,000 dollars, rather than restructuring its debt to settle the tax agency's audit of 583.5 million dollars of bonds issued in 1998 to finance the acquisition of another health care system.
