ABSTRACT
Reports on the incident of delay in dissemination of information by the officials at the White House and the Departments of State and Defense about the seizure of the U.S. cargo ship Mayaguez by a Cambodian navel vessel. Questions raised on the legal and constitutional limitations posed by the delay; Reaction of the U.S. media to the incident; Question whether the administration purposely withheld, delayed and falsified casualty figures in order to sustain as long as possible the general glow that followed the recovery of the ship and crew.
