ABSTRACT
The article presents abstracts on topics concerning the occurrence of deep venous thrombosis in patients after undergoing total hip and knee arthroplasty, which include the review of the American College of Chest Physicians Guidelines regarding the matter, the prevention of symptomatic pulmonary embolism as provided by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Guidelines, and the consequences of taking in aspirin to treat venous thrombosis.
