This article presents abstracts from various papers that were discussed in the Scandinavian Society of Nephrology, that was held in Finland between August 31 and September 2, 1989. In one of the papers the researchers studied renal biopsies from 19 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Nine were male and 10 female with a mean age of 59 years, and the duration of RA ranged from two to 31 years with a mean of 16.0 years. The diagnosis on ARA was based on the ARA-criteria. Twelve were seropositive and seven seronegative.
